- NOTE: This is not a true story. It was told to me by Mary Pacheco in 1997:
Guillerma's father was from Salamanca, Spain. Her mother (his wife) was full-native Indian. According to the story, he found her lost in the woods (?) in Puerto Rico. He gestured for her to follow him home. They later married.
(we now know that Ramon Caravalho was from Yauco, PR).
