Mavis Irene Chittim

Mavis Irene Chittim, 80, of Crossett died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at Ashley County Medical Center. She was born November 8, 1923, retired from Georgia-Pacific in December, 1986, and was a Baptist.

Survivors include one son, Stephen T. Majercin and wife Denise of Crossett; three sisters, Jean Gray, Theresa Barnett and Walterene Bonniwell; one brother, Joe Hicks; two grandchildren, Stephanie Massey and Crissy Parrott; and four great-grandchildren, Brooke Massey, Logan Massey, Taylor Parrott and Tyler Parrott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen T. Majercin Sr.; her mother, Lena Pearl Ray; her father, Walter Hicks; two sisters, Mildred Outlaw and Earlene Leese; and three brothers, Larry Ray, Darver Ray and Kelley Ray.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 15, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett with Richard White officiating. Burial was at Crossroads Cemetery. Pallbearers were Todd Adcock, Timmy Adcock, Randy Abernathy, Scotty Bonnette, Steve Williams and Daryl Parrott.
