Dennis Carl Danko - 1936-2004

Dennis Carl Danko, 67, of 1204 N. Jackson St., died at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at Camelot Terrace Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Solon, Baker & Telford Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeffrey Lawrence will officiate.

Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home including flag folding and taps.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today, Friday, at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.

Cremation rites will be accorded after the funeral services.

Born Sept. 27, 1936, in Streator, he was the son of John L. and Emma (Wargo) Danko. He married Evelyn J. Majercin on Dec. 30, 1954. She died Feb. 23, 2002.

Surviving are sons, Rodney Danko of Streator, Dennis C. (Kathy) Danko of Ohio, Ill., and Jeffrey Danko of Adams, Wis.; a daughter, Cindy Shepard of Streator; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brothers, Louis (Lorraine) Danko and Raymond (Marla) Danko, both of Streator.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Clarence and John Danko.

He graduated from St. Stephen?s Grade School and attended Streator High School.

He served in the United States Air Force in the Strategic Air Command.

He resided in Streator all of his life and retired in 1992 from Vactor Manufacturing.

He was a member of St. Stephen's Church.

Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
