Evelyn J. Danko - 1938-2002

Evelyn J. Danko, 64, of 1204 N. Jackson St., died at 6 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at St. John?s Hospital in Springfield.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Solon & Baker Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeffrey Lawrence will officiate.

Cremation rites will be accorded after the services.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Born Feb. 3, 1938, in Streator, she was the daughter of Frank and Catherine (Benstine) Majercin. She married Dennis C. Danko on Dec. 30, 1954, at St. Stephen?s Church. He survives.

Also surviving are sons, Dennis C. (Kathy) Danko of Ohio, Ill., Jeffrey Danko of Adams, Wis., and Rodney Danko of Streator; a daughter, Cindy Shepard of Streator; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Loretta Fuller of Fulton, N.Y.; and brothers, Frank E. Majercin of Streator and Roger Majercin of Toluca.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She retired from Thatcher?s (Anchor Glass) in Streator in 1987.

A lifelong Streator resident, she was a member of St. Stephen?s Church.
