Obituary for Jack Gehm
Jack Gehm (1927-2003)
AMES, IOWA - Jack R. Gehm, 76, of Ames, Iowa, a Tonica native, died at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames. The Rev. Terry Rassmussen will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery, Ames.
Stevens Memorial Chapel, Ames, is in charge of arrangements.
Born Jan. 3, 1927, in Tonica, he was the son of Cyril and Cecile Gehm. He married Jeanne Hudak on Oct. 13, 1956, in Streator. She survives.
Also surviving are daughters, Janie (Mrs. Craig) Kruger of Grimes, Iowa, Nancy (Mrs. Steve) Bernhardt of Marion, Iowa, Angie (Mrs. Brian) Brummel of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Laurie (Mrs. Clayton) Coder of Clive, Iowa; a son, Tim (Kyla) Gehm of Johnston, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; sisters, Norma (Mrs. Bernie) Busch of Ottawa, Sally Mareta of Tonica, and Judy (Mrs. Al) Swierkosz of La Salle.
Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant son, Bobby.
He moved to Ames in 1971 with Sundstrand and retired in 1991.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given for Masses, the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, or St. Cecilia Church Building Fund.
