Carl Francis Majercin (1919-2004)

Carl Francis Majercin, 84, of Danville, died at 5:31 a.m. Thursday (March 25, 2004) at the Department of Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System in Danville.

Mr. Majercin was born Oct. 30, 1919, in Danville, the son of Michael and Emma Kacmar Majercin. He married Margaret Russian July 1, 1943, in Danville. She preceded him in death Nov. 4, 1996.

Surviving are his children, Shirley Brewer, Jeffery Majercin and Pamela Abdelghani, all of Danville, Carolyn (Eric) Nantz in Colorado, Douglas (Carolyn) Majercin of Mansfield and Melanie Majercin of Westville; two sisters, Beatrice Zobay of Ports St. Lucie, Fla., and Evelyn Cornett of Westville; five grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and three brothers.

Mr. Majercin worked at Conron's as a buyer. He served in the U.S. Army, retiring as a captain. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westville and enjoyed gardening, fishing and mushrooming.

A celebration of Mr. Majercin's life will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westville; Officiating: Rev. David Erickson; Visitation: 9:30-11 a.m. Monday at Lakeside-Urbas Funeral Home in Westville; Burial: St. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Westville; Memorials: St. Mary's Catholic Church.
