Obituary for Evelyn Majercin
Evelyn M. Majerchin (1914-2007)
Evelyn M. Majerchin, 94, of Streator died Thursday June 19, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. Monday at St. Stephen's Church, Streator. Msgr. Thomas Badovsky will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Solon, Baker & Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Streator.
Born February 12, 1914 in Streator she was the daughter of George and Mary (Fedor) Tutko. She married Louis S. Mayerchin on October 16, 1936 at St. Stephen's Church. He died in Decemeber of 1962.
She is survived by one daughter, Janice (Carmon) Thiems of Highlands, Illinois. Sons, Kenneth L. (Ann) Maynard of Hermosa Beach, California, Daniel G. Majerchin of Northport, Florida and Louis J. (Susan) Majerchin of Streator. Grandchildren, Karen Niehaus, Susan Robinson, Christy Skallus, Kristen Matthews, Louis Majerchin, Christopher Majerchin and Olivia Majerchin. 9 Great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Daniel, George and Edward Tutko. Also a granddaughter in infancy.
She was born and raised in Streator and attended Streator High School.
She worked at the family business Tutko's Grocery Store for 27 years. She later worked for Streator High School as the faculty cook for 10 years.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Church and the altar and rosary society of the church. She was also a member of Jednota and AARP.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
