Lawrence Majerchin (1947-2006)

STREATOR - Lawrence J. Majerchin, 58, of 1302 Johnson St., Streator, died at 12:44 p.m. Sunday (May 7, 2006) at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.

His visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Solon, Baker & Telford Funeral Home, Streator. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday with a Mass of Christian burial at St. Stephen's Church, Streator. The Rev. Eugene Radosevich will officiate. Music will be provided by soloist Ricardo Dittmer accompanied on the organ by Sharon Hatzer.

Interment will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be family members and friends. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by Streator Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492 and Streator Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217. He was born Sept. 26, 1947, in Streator, to Andrew T. and Frances D. Siroky Majercin.

He is survived by brothers, Thomas Majerchin and Andrew (Janice) Majerchin, both of Streator; and a sister, Suzanne Majerchin, Streator; several nieces; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He resided in Streator most of his life and had worked at Hogan Implement in Dwight and last worked for Mitsubishi Motors in Normal.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He graduated from St. Stephen's Grade School, Streator, and Streator Township High School in 1965. He also graduated from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb with a degree in accounting.
