Obituary for Anita Majercin

Anita Majercin

Anita Majercin, 74, of Streator passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Parker Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Streator. 

  Funeral services will be held at 5:00 P.M. Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. 

  Visitation will be from 2-5 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.  Cremation rites will be accorded following the services and private family burial will take place at a later date in Pennsylvania. 

  Born February 28, 1938 in Spangler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of John and Anita (Mason) Germanoro.  She was married to James Kennedy from 1957 to 1960.  She was later married to Edward Majercin from 1961 to 1990. 

  She is survi
ved by daughters, Flo (Scott) Bulthuis and Anita (Darrold McKinney) Smith both of Streator; sons, James Majercin of Pontiac, Edward (Shannon) Majercin of Streator and Joseph (Julianna Finan) Majercin of Marseilles; grandchildren, Alex and Kathryn Bulthuis, and Trayton Majercin, of Streator, IL and Dustin Dawson of Marseilles, Il and Mariann Hetherington of Des Moines, Iowa, a sister, Rose (Bob) Brill of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania; brothers, John (Lisa) Germanoro of Holmes, Pennsylvania and David Germanoro of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, along with a niece and nephews.
 
  She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother and sister in law Joseph and Jane Germanoro. 

  She attended Pennsylvania grade schools and attended Upper Darby High School in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. 

  Through the years Anita was employed at the Mastbaum Theater in Philadelphia as an usherette and also worked at Ship n Shore Blouses.  She later worked for the Paris Garter Factory in Streator and as a C.N.A. at St. Mary's Hospital.  She also worked a
s a Nanny, a personal caretaker and a housecleaner in the Streator area. 

  She belonged to St. Stephen's Church and Central Church of Christ. 
  She loved to dance and even danced on American Bandstand in Philadelphia.  She also loved working out at the gym, taking long walks, sewing and bowling.  She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. 

  Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to the family who plan on planting a tree in Anita?s memory at Spring Lake.
