STREATOR -Loretta H. Katchmar, 82, of Streator, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Peru.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church, Streator. The Rev. Fr. Jacob Rose will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be Tom Gualandi, Andy Katchmar, John Underwood, Adam Bartelt, Albert Miller and Bob Brennan Jr.
Born April 1, 1933, in Wenona, she was the daughter of Thomas and Annette (Thurston) Brennan. She married Alvin J. Katchmar on Jan. 14, 1956, at St. Mary's Church, Wenona. He preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 2015.
She is survived by a daughter, Patti (Scott) Jinks, of Manassas, Va.; grandchildren, Kristina Katchmar, Mandi Bartelt, Heather (Kevin) Perdue and Adam Bartelt; great-grandchildren, Tessa Bartelt, Madison Perdue, Jasmine Pardue and Isabella Bartelt; a sister, Mary Gualandi, of Cedar Point; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Laura Katchmar; a son, John Katchmar; sisters, Frances Divora, Cecelia Ann Brennan and Virginia Ponsetto; and brothers, Tim and Robert Brennan.
Born and raised in Wenona, she attended Wenona grade schools and graduated from Wenona High School. She also attended St. Francis School of Nursing in Peoria.
She worked as a registered nurse for many years for Doctors Moore and Schiffbauer.
She was a member of the former St. Stephen's Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Parish. She also was a member of the church choir. She was very devout in her faith and 
attended Mass daily as well as daily recitation of the Holy Rosary. She volunteered through the years with the Unwed Mother's.
