Gaydos, published on the Solon-Telford Mortuary website. Helen L. Gaydos November 23, 1940 ~ November 18, 2019 (age 78) Helen L. Gaydos, 78, of Streator passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 at her son’s home in Streator. There will be no funeral services. Cremation rites will be accorded. Private family burial will be at a later date at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Born November 23, 1940 in Streator she was the daughter of John and Margaret (Majercin) Gaydos. She is survived by a son, Ray (Brigitte Fitzmaurice) Gaydos of Streator; grandchildren, Hallie (Forrest) Smith of Streator, Ashleigh (Nick Arevalo) Fitzmaurice of Streator and Brandon (Kaitlin Gonzalez) Fitzmaurice of Streator; great grandchildren, Caysen Smith, Elliana Arevalo and Priscilla Arevalo; a brother, George Gaydos of Streator; several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Frank “Poppy”, Steve and John Gaydos; and sisters, Louise Elias, Mary Ann Brewer and Delores Gaydos in infancy. Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School. She worked as a Bookkeeper for many years at P.N.A. Auto Parts and also managed the Plumb and Majestic Theatres as well as the Streator Drive-In-Theatre. She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church. She was also a member of the VFW.
