Richard Joseph WalkerWalker, Richard - Obituary Obituary for Richard "Dick" Walker on his death in 2008 Richard J. Walker, Sr. 3/13/1934 - 1/23/2008 Richard (Dick) J. Walker, Sr., of Newcastle, Calif., born March 13, 1934, passed away January 23, 2008 as a result of complications of diabetes. Born in San Francisco, he moved to Novata in 1939, graduated from San Rafael High, joined the Navy in 1952, and married Dolores in Hawaii in 1954. After leaving the service in 1956, he and Dolores moved back to Novato in 1955. In 1964, he and his growing family moved to Fairfield, where they lived until 1981. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dolores (Dee), children Ramona (DJ) Henderson, Rick (Debbie) Walker, MaryAnn Hodgeson, Bobbie (Dana) Luke, Chuck (Lisa) Walker, and Aurora Veenbaas, 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Dick spent the majority of his life working as a mechanic in various shops throughout Northern California. A potluck memorial will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2008 at Castle City Mobile Home Park Clubhouse, Newcastle (no flowers, please).
