CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi police are investigating after a dead body was found this morning, CCPD officials said. The body was found in a wooded area, police said.
Officers were called to the scene near the 100 block of Jester St. at 9:18 a.m this morning. The body was found by a man walking his dog.
At this time, police cannot say how long the body has been there or if it is a male or female. The Medical Examiner's office will conduct an autopsy.
Homicide and robbery detectives have been called to the scene, officials said.

Badly decomposed body found on Jester near NAS Drive
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Police is investigating a case after a dead body was found this morning in the 100 block of Jester in Flour Bluff.
The body was found at approximately 9 a.m. Friday by a man who was walking his dog in a wooded area that's a street away from Naval Air Station Drive.
Police say the body is in a state of decomposition, so they have been unable to determine a gender or cause of death - yet.
Robbery and homicide detectives and ID techs were on the scene collecting evidence.
Police say it will take some time for the medical examiner to determine a gender or a cause of death.
The investigation is continuing. We'll have more information about it as we learn about it.
