STREATOR - John S. Majercin, 67, Streator, died at 3:45 p.m. Saturday (Oct 23, 1993) at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator, after a brief illness.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Stephen's Church, Streator, the Rev. Peter Bolerasky officiating. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Streator.
Visitation will be from 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Elias Funeral Home, Streator. Mr. Majercin was born June 8, 1926, in Streator, a son of John and Catherine Patovich Majercin. He married Margaret Brozak on Jan. 4, 1944, in Streator. She died Sept 20, 1989.
Surviving include a son, Michael J., Cape Coral, Fla; a daughter, Carole Reed, Streator, his fianc?ee, Mary Sharisky, Streator, three sisters, Jean Sereg, Portage, Wis, Theresa Willever, Cupertino, Calif and Frances Uhren, Waco, Texas; two brothers, Edward and Bernard, both of Streator; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
One brother preceded him in death.
Mr. Majercin, a lifelong Streator resident, was a car salesman for more than 40 years, last working for the Chevrolet dealership in Streator. He was a member of St. Stephens Church and Moose Lodge 372, both of Streator, and was an honorary member of the 100 Car Club. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
