Beverly BurgessBurgess, Beverly - Obituary Obituary for Beverly Burgess Stadnick from the Niel Funeral Home in 2021 Beverly Burgess Stadnick ObituaryObituary Beverly (Burgess) Stadnick died peacefully at Crescent Point in Niantic, Connecticut on September 3, 2021 at the age of 84. Born August 31, 1937 in New London, CT Beverly was the only child of Thomas and Delia Burgess. She attended New London schools and was a proud member of the class of 1955. Beverly married John Stadnick on May 11, 1957. He predeceased her in 2008. Beverly and John made their home in Niantic. They were active members of their community while raising their children. She and John especially enjoyed spending time boating with family and friends on Long Island sound and throughout the northeast. A great cook, her baked beans and homemade pies were legendary. Family and friends will always remember her as a generous and hospitable person with an open door to all. Everyone knew they were welcome in her home and at her table. Beverly was an active and dedicated member of St John’s Episcopal Church in Niantic CT. An accomplished knitter, she spent many hours volunteering at St John’s, including making prayer shawls that gave comfort to those facing serious illness. Family came first to Beverly and is a value she instilled in her children and grandchildren. Beverly is survived by her son, Glenn Stadnick and daughter in law Theresa Stadnick of Old Lyme, CT and daughter Tamie Smith of Niantic, CT. She also leaves behind grandsons Samuel Stadnick of Old Lyme and Patrick Smith of Fort Collins, Co. granddaughters, Carey Stadnick Greggila (Christopher) of Shaker Heights, Ohio and Rebecca Smith of Golden, Colorado. Each of which was her favorite. A memorial service is scheduled for Beverly on Saturday, October 2 at 11 am at St John’s Episcopal Church, Main Street, Niantic, CT with a reception to follow at McCook’s Point Park. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Beverly’s life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Beverly’s name to St. John’s Episcopal Church, Niantic.
