John Edward StadnickStadnick, John - Obituary Obituary for John Stadnick - 2008 John Stadnick ObituaryNiantic - John Edward Stadnick, 73, of Old Black Point Rd., died Thursday Aug. 21, 2008, at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, New London. He was born Feb. 24, 1935, in New London. He was the son of Nicholas and Tekla Martynuck Stadnick. He married the former Beverly Burgess on May 11, 1957. John graduated from New London High School in 1953. He was a veteran serving from 1954 until 1956, stationed in France. He retired from CL&P and Northeast Utilities. He was a former member of the Niantic Sportsman Club, a member of Bayview Lodge of Masons and was a member East Lyme Booster Club Lighting Committee. He was an avid fisherman and lobsterman. He also enjoyed boating, camping, watching birds, the outdoors, all the trips he made with his family and friends, as well as the companionship of his "canine co-pilot" Pinto. Besides his wife Beverly, of 51 years, he is survived by his daughter, Tamie Smith and her husband, Michael, of Niantic; a son, Glenn Stadnick and his wife, Theresa, of Old Lyme; his grandchildren, Carey and Samuel Stadnick, and Rebecca and Patrick Smith; three sisters, Ann Constantine of Niantic, Mary Rigero of Lisbon, and Sylvia Tyminski of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; his sister-in-laws, Elsie Stadnick of Waterford, and Margaret, Viola and Gladys Stadnick of Niantic; also many nieces and nephews; and his many close friends who were always there for him and his family. He was predeceased by his brothers, Michael, Francis, Joseph, Nicholas and Frederick; his sister, Helen Lake; sister-in-law, Katherine Stadnick; brother-in-laws, Wilfred Lake, Henry Rigero and John Tyminski. A memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at St. Johns Episcopal Church, 400 Main St., in Niantic. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m., at the church. Donations in his memory may be made to the Connecticut Audubon Society, 33 Pratt St., Suite 201, Essex, CT 06426, Attn: Osprey Fund. Thomas L.
