Philip A. ClaytonClayton, Philip - Obituary Obituary for Philip Clayton from the 14 May 1996 edition of The Times from Streator, Illinois, page 13. 1919-1996 Philip A. Clayton, 76, of 1318 John died suddenly at 8:21 p.m. Monday, May 13, 1996, at his home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday with a Mass of Christian burial at St. Stephen's Church. Monsignor Peter Bolerasky will officiate. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Solon Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be William Clayton, Keith Eurich, Christopher Irwin, James Irwin, Brent Swartz and Robert "Swartz. Born Sept. 9, 1919, in Streator, he was the son of Bertie and Mable (Phillips) Clayton. He married Louise Wargo on June 27, 1941. She died Jan.1, 1990. Surviving are a brother, Wilson Clayton, of Streator; and a sister, Ruth Papenberg, of Largo, Fla. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Clayton, in infancy. A Streator resident all of his life, he retired from Owens-Illinois Glass Company as a maintenance supervisor. An Army veteran of World War he was a member of St. Stephen's Church and Monsignor Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council 791.
