Obituary for Gary S. Mayerchin
Gary S. Mayerchin, 74, of Ladd, passed away January 29, 2021 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria with his family by his side.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 PM Friday in the Hurst Funeral Home in Ladd. Face masks will be required. Private family burial will be in Valley Memorial Park in Spring Valley with Deacon John Murphy officiating.
Gary was born in Streator on September 28, 1946 to Stephen and Margaret (Sauers) Mayerchin. He married Mary Lynn Nestler on March 15, 1980.
Gary enjoyed his garden and his butterfly bushes. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following the Chicago Bears and Chicago Bulls. He was an animal lover and enjoyed keeping freshwater fish aquariums.
Gary met his dogs, Andy, Jackie, Nina and Ellie at the Rainbow Bridge.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Lynn of Ladd; one sister: Sandy (Ron) Shirley of Williamsburg, VA; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters: Marlene Adams and Deborah Cassidy.
