Anne Carolyn ArasimowiczWall, Anne C. - Obituary Obituary for Anne (Arasimowicz) Wall Anne Carolyn Wall Anne Carolyn Wall, one of Fishers Islands oldest citizens, died May 17 at home. She was 87. Born Nov. 27, 1915 in New Britain, Conn., the daughter of Sylvester and Anna Arasimowicz, Mrs. Wall moved to Fishers Island when she was two. She was the last surviving resident of the first graduating class of the old Fishers Island School, which was located on the current site of the Robert Coleman residence. After graduation, Mrs. Wall worked at the Mansion House Hotel as a switchboard operator and then at the Fishers Island Farms office as a secretary. "Annie" loved the island and its residents. She particularly looked forward to the monthly senior luncheon. Until her health declined, she spent her spare time combing island beaches, collecting jars of beach glass; fishing, clamming and reading. In recent years, she operated the Our Lady of Grace Rummage Sale on summer Saturdays, giving bargains to her favorite customers, the children. She was a regular communicant of Our Lady of Grace. "Annie" will never be forgotton by those who knew and loved her. Her family would like to "thank each and everyone who helped us through this difficult time." Mrs. Wall was pre-deceased by her husband Ernest Wall, four brothers and one sister. She is survived by a sister, Melen Zito of Waterford, Conn., four sons, Robert, James, Peter and William; two daughters; Judith Imbriglio and Patricia Faulkner; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
