Robert Uhren (1932-2004)
Robert "Bob" Uhren, 71, of Woodway, Texas, a native of Streator, died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, at a nursing facility in Woodway.
A memorial service was held at 11:30 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco, Texas. The Rev. Davis Findley officiated.
Visitation was from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Born Dec. 22, 1932, in Streator, he was the son of Andrew and Alice Uhren. He married Frances Majercin on Oct. 12, 1957, in Streator.
Survivors include his wife of Woodway; his mother, Alice Uhren of Streator; a daughter, Amy Lynn Uhren of Hewitt, Texas; a son, Robert J. Uhren of Maryville, Tenn.; and a brother, Ronald Uhren of Streator.
He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Anna and Frank Southey; and paternal grandparents, Andrew J. and Stephana Uhren.
He attended school in Streator. He joined the United States Air Force in 1951 and was discharged in 1955.
He was a service manager for Owens-Brockway until his retirement Dec. 31, 1991.
He was very active in the Waco Senior Golfers Association.
Memorials may be directed to Providence Hospice, 4830 Lakewood Dr., Ste. #5, Waco, TX 76710; or a local cancer society.
